VC: This wine won a Gold Medal at the Concurso Nacional de Vinhos Engarrafados 2007. Medium amber in color, this delicious Moscatel has intense aromas of oranges, floral notes, peaches, raisins and caramel. It’s sweet and very fruity with terrific aroma replays on the soft-textured, medium body. A pretty and well-balanced dessert wine with a long, substantial finish. My note: A beguiling, hedonistic dessert wine that will take you mentally walking through an orange grove and finish on a wide field of buttercups. Rich without being heavy, it’s the perfect ending to a great meal. Food matches: angel food cake, almond based desserts, baked apples, baked pairs, coffee cake.
